The laboratory research building was designed to complete The Institute for Genomic Research campus. The building includes both dry and wet labs for research. Costing $28 million, the project provides facilities for the expansion of research programs dealing with functional genomics as applied to human disease.
The large infrastructure requirement for the building as well as
the individual requirements of the research teams presented a sophisticated and complex challenge – both in engineering and in architecture. In addition to addressing these challenges, the project redesigns the storm water management system to provide a landscaped centerpiece on the campus.
Michael Winstanley AIA AICP was the Design Principal for the project during his tenure as Design Director at Leo A Daly.
